Everest Gokyo Trekking route is the most strenuous treks in the region which covers major high altitudes of the region including Gokyo Ri, Cho-La Pass, Everest base camp. Everest Gokyo Cho-La Pass trekking itinerary:

Day 01: Arrrival to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. Evenings are generally allowed free to shop around at your own. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu. A day in Kathmandu includes sightseeing which gives you major highlight’s visit inside Kathmandu valley. Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swaymabhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar square etc. overnight in Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. The Flight to Lukla is wonderful, passing above the mountains; the landing is an exciting moment in almost inclined airport where one end is 60 mtrs higher than the other. Start hiking along the Dudh Koshi to stay overnight in Phakding (2600 mtrs.). You will encounter the first procession of Yaks carrying the goods and creating temporary roadblocks while you are on your way. Yaks, Sheeps, Mule and horses are major transport mean in the region.

Day 04: Trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Continue walking along the Dudh Koshi to reach the Namche Bazaar. This famous trade center of the region is facilitated much than the other villages of the region. The Saturday market in Namche bazaar remains one of the important venues for the villagers to gather for need of home appliances, goods, clothes. Overnight in Namche bazaar (3440 mtrs.).

Day 05: Free day in Namche bazaar. Acclimatization in Namche bazaar, you may also wish to visit the places around. Overnight in Namche.

Day 06: Trekking from Namche to Phortse Tenga. The Twin peaks of Thamserku Mountain rise as you start the trail. The region is said to have the tale of Yeti, one of endangered Animals of the world. There still are remnants of the Yeti in Khumjung. Trekking along the banks of Dudh Koshi River with its soaring sound enters the forest of Rhodondren which ends at Phortse Tenga. Overnight in Phortse Tenga (3700 mtrs.).

Day 07: Trekking from Phortse Tenga to Lhabarma. This day, the Cho Oyu becomes visible at its beuties; the short day to Lhabarma is designed to allow sufficient acclimatization. Overnight in Lhabarma (4330 mtrs.).

Day 08: Trekking from Lhabarma to Machherma. Machherma has its history of a woman baing attacked by a Yeti who killed three yaks at the same incident in 1974. The trekking trail passes through the summer Yak pastures allowing you to explore the beauties of the region. Overnight in Machhermo Village (4470 mtrs.).

Day 09: Trekking from Machherma to Gokyo Village. Gokyo Village lies at very high altitude. This is one of the highest villages of the region. On this day’s trek, you will be able to see the largest glacier of Nepal, the Ngojumba Glacier. Spectacularly, the gokyo Peak shows its beauties while you are passing the trail on this day. Overnight in Gokyo Village (4800 mtrs.).

Day 10: Climb to Gokyo Peak on this day. This is a longer day, climbing the Gokyo peak will allow you to explore the surrounding beauties. From here you can see most of the highest mountains including the Everest; Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Tawache are one of highest mountains of the earth. Just below you can see the Jgojumba glacier, you will have the best romance of your trek on this day from the top of Gokyo peak. Climb down to Gokyo Village for overnight stay.

Day 11: Trek back to Khumjung Village. Retrace the way back to Khumjung Village. This is one of famous Buddhist pilgrimage sites of the region having Khumjung Monastery, one of the biggest of the region. Overnight in Khumjung (3800 mtrs.).

Day 12: Trekking back to Namche bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Trekking back to Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 14: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu. Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Whole day free in Kathmandu for shopping, resting.

Day 16: Free morning and drive to the airport for onward flight depending upon the flight time.
